Brandi Glanville is speaking up about how her ex-husband Eddie Cibrian’s previous romance with his now-wife, LeAnn Rimes, affected her terribly.
Glanville and Cibrian, both 48, were married from 2001 to 2009, when they announced their divorce while he was having an affair with Rimes, 38, whom he married in 2011.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum wrote in an op-ed for The Sun this week that “there had been warning signs” that Cibrian had cheated on her. When Glanville pressed him, Cibrian would just claim that she “was jealous,” but that he “loved” her anyway.
When Glanville visited the set of Cibrian and Rimes’ 2009 film Northern Lights, she claimed to have witnessed how the two “were attracted to each other.” Glanville learned of their romance through the press, she claimed.
“Over the table, there was video footage of them kissing. It was a disaster. I returned home and passed out in my closet, crying uncontrollably “she remembered “He attempted to persuade me otherwise, but I knew it was finished.
Despite the fact that they were sucking on each other’s fingers in the film, he claimed that nothing was going on. It was completely ridiculous. I inquired about his feelings for LeAnn. He replied he didn’t he just wanted to be with me forever and go to counseling with me.”
Glanville discovered that Cibrian, with whom she shares boys Mason Edward, 18, and Jake Austin, 14, had also been cheating on her with Vanderpump Rules actress Scheana Shay, weeks after the affair news broke. Glanville described the revelation as “wild.”
“For the few months we’d been in counseling together, he’d been seeing [LeAnn] behind my back. I was shattered. I wouldn’t be here right now if I didn’t have to care for my children “she penned “It was really public. Everyone wanted to hug me because they felt terrible for me. I, on the other hand, wanted to punch everyone in the face. I couldn’t turn on the television without seeing them on it. LeAnn had taken over my life, and I no longer had a voice. I didn’t want my children to be near her. She had my husband, but she would not have my children.”
She went on,
“Before they married, I went to a soccer game and saw Jake, who was two at the time, sitting in her lap. My body was filled with wrath. I was desperate to kill her. ‘I will f**k*** murder you,’ I yelled as I walked over to her, grabbed Jake, and gazed at her.”
Glanville admitted that Cibrian’s infidelity left her “mad” and “drinking.” She also stated that she was “”I even taped him expressing how much he loved me and how much he didn’t love LeAnn — and I sent it to her,” he continued. I wanted her to understand what he said.”
The mother of two admitted that her need for vengeance was “eating away” at her, but dating again let Glanville “move on.” She even “hooked up” with Gerard Butler for a short time, describing him as “very kind but quite paranoid about photographers.”
While Glanville was “furious” with Eddie for “blowing apart” their life together, the two eventually reconciled in their post-divorce relationship.
“I’m currently smitten with LeAnn, who married Eddie in 2011. We all hang out with her because she’s fantastic. I’ve already forgiven her “Glanville composed. “Since we’ll be with each other for the rest of our lives due of the kids, why not make the most of it?”
“Eddie and I still have disagreements, but it’s like if the three of us are parenting — it’s good to have a third person on my side. However, due of what happened, I will always have trust concerns “she continued.
Glanville also talked about her alleged affair with Denise Richards, which she said happened during Richards’ current marriage to Aaron Phypers and was brought up on RHOBH season 10. (Richards has categorically denied the relationship.)
“I’m sorry for how things turned out. I wish we could simply have a private conversation “she added. “I don’t like cheaters, and in this case, I felt like I was on the receiving end of the situation, as Denise had a husband named Aaron Phypers. It was eating me alive not telling anyone, so I had to get it out so I could breathe.”
Glanville’s open letter follows her recent celebration of her eldest son Mason’s 18th birthday with Cibrian and Rimes.
Rimes shared the secret to making her mixed family with Glanville and Cibrian work in an interview with People TV last year.
“You have to consider everyone’s feelings and you have to allow people to have them and you can’t take them personally,” the singer added, adding that it’s “easier said than done, but at least we shoot for that.”
