Sachet Water Price in Ghana increased to ¢0.4

Following the recent increment of products and services, sachet water association of Ghana has doubled prices from 20 pesewas to 40 pesewas starting, Monday, 27th December 2021.

National president of the association, Magnus Nunoo, revealed in a press release that, 500ml sachet water which was formally sold at 20 pesewas will now be sold for 40 pesewas. This amount to a 100 percent increment.

Not only that, 500ml bottled water which was formally ¢1 has also been increased by 50 percent corresponding to ¢1.5.

750ml bottled water to be retailed at ¢2 and 1.5L large size to be sold at ¢3.5.

According to the association, they took a step to increase prices due to recent doubling in prices of other commodities necessary for the production of sachet water.

They complained about prices of fuel, machine spare parts, labor cost and others which forced them to increase prices of their products.

Since from the beginning of 2021, Ghanaians has been through economic hardships. Even the president admitted the fact that, things are tough but citizens should not blame him because he is not the reason for the current sufferings.

How much is a bag of sachet water in Ghana?

Effective from Monday, 27th December 2021, a bag of sachet water will be sold at ¢4.5 wholesale and retailed in shops at ¢4 or more. A bag contains 30 sachets, 500ml each.
