Nikki Blonsky (born November 9, 1988) is a singer, dancer, actor, and social media personality from the United States. She is most known for her role as Tracy Turnblad in the 2007 movie Hairspray, for which she won two Critics’ Choice Awards and was nominated for a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Blonsky played Willamena Rader in the ABC Family series Huge (2010), for which she was nominated for a Teen Choice Award. She also played Margot on the series Smash (2013) in a recurring role, and Therese and Faith, respectively, in the movies Geography Club (2013) and The Last Movie Star (2017). She holds a cosmetology license.
Blonsky was raised in Great Neck, New York, where she was born. She and her brother Joey are the offspring of school assistant Karen and municipal employee for the local water pollution control department Carl Blonsky.
Her mother is a Roman Catholic, and her father is Jewish. Blonsky attended Great Neck North Middle School, then transferred to Village School after a year at John L. Miller Great Neck North High School.
She also often attended the William A. Shine Great Neck South High School’s after-school theater program, where she took part in performances of Les Misérables, Sweeney Todd, Kiss Me, Kate, and Carmen, the main role.

Blonsky came out as a lesbian in a video that was uploaded to the social media platform TikTok in June 2020 and used the Diana Ross song “I’m Coming Out.” Blonsky revealed in August 2020 that she currently resides on Long Island.
