She was a student at Eagan High, Osnes spent one year majoring in musical theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point before leaving to pursue a professional career.
She returned to Minneapolis in 2005 and 2006 to work as an acting apprentice at the Children’s Theatre Company.

Personal Life
On December 23, 2006, longtime partner Nathan Johnson proposed to Osnes. They exchanged vows on May 11, 2007. They have a dog named Lyla and live in Manhattan.
Osnes served as a judge and mentor for the Songbook Academy in 2015, a summer program for high school students run by the Michael Feinstein’s Great American Songbook Foundation.
