Krakowski was born and raised in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey. She has an elder brother. Although she speaks very little Polish, her father and grandmother are native speakers because her father is from a Polish family.
She attended Parsippany High School and Professional Children’s School in New York City before moving on to Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
